Wood You Look at the Time - 003

Well, at least I came out of the blocks hard.

For what was planned as a monthly exercise, it has gotten a bit long in the tooth between blog entries. Perhaps it was apt that the previous entry was regarding failure as currently, that would be the outward appearance. The blog, and my woodworking in general, really hasn’t been getting as much attention as I’d like; for a variety of reasons. So I decided to head out the the shed and get the show back on the road again.

Plane, Mark, Scribe

As much as I'd like to be releasing content at a frenetic pace, this really is more like a marathon to keep trucking on. I do have some ambitious milestones and targets I'm working towards achieving but, you know, life happens while you're busy making other plans. Sticking to really hard deadlines has been a bit of a tough ask for this venture as it currently has to fit between and around the rest of the goings on in my life. Despite really ‘having a go’ recently; personal circumstances have been working against me for a little while and still are to some degree.

Cut, Cut, Loose

I also don’t want to throw a heap of shit out there continually and see what sticks just to meet the timeline. I’m really aiming to get some high-quality substance to the content being produced that is entertaining and hopefully a little educational as well. The goal for every item is not just to be appealing and engaging; but to also pique your interest. Trying quirky ideas or incorporating different facets of my skillset into the projects to set them apart. This is what I'm really looking to achieve.

Hold, hold, hold, whoosh.

This does mean that it takes a fair bit of time to get something together that I’m satisfied with; to put out there to the scrutiny of the internet. Every piece of content that gets released I am happy with, proud of and would personally watch or read. In the long term; I think having an, albeit smaller, library of quality content is better than a large backlog with a heap of filler. This might fly in the face of the 'content is king' maxim but there is literally an ocean of content out there; from completely mediocre to exceptional. The only means I see to make a splash with, is quality over quantity.

Time to unwind

Know that the wheels haven’t completely fallen off this thing and progress has been chugging along; glacially. Really looking forward to getting the next video out there. Until then, it’s always time for wood working.

Kind Regards

Walker
